CLASS CHALET CONFIRMATION

okay, so these are the people who are going so far:

1. kai shun
2. shannon
3. kian how
4. jeslyn
5. dawn (only 2nd day)
6. ziling
7. evadne
8. melody
9. shirleen
10. me
11. denise
12. our teachers
13. marvin (maybe)

still awaiting confirmation but paid for: sarah

check in time is 3PM on the first day.

bbq will be on the second day (11th dec) evening. food arrives from 4-6pm so we have to be at the chalet itself. this is the food list (apparently they didn't have a 15-pax package and i cannot order the 10-pax package since there will be a shortage so i went for the 20-pax one):

100 chicken satay

2 satay sauce

60 buffalo wings

30 chicken hotdog

32 crab stick

20 sweet corn

20 garlic toast

1 pack marshmallow

30 premium otah

1 serve bee hoon

1 serve fried rice

20 fish ball

20 cheesy sotong ball

1 chocolate fondue

packet drinks 24

the total price is $180.43, of which $100 has been settled with current class fund. basically, the 8 bucks i told u guys to bring is only for worst-case scenario where only 10 people turn up, we'd still be able to pay the full amount. remember once again that if you got the message, you have to pay for the bbq even if you do no turn up (cos u are part of the confirmed list).

for those of you who are still clueless about where the place is, the details are here:

https://www.aloharesorts.com.sg/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=387&Itemid=770

and a map for those who are really lost:

anyway, i'm done here, and i hope to see you guys there. thanks! :)

or maybe just a bug.
perhaps someone is having a nice toenail or a patterned shoelace that is attracting the attention of many gurls. clearly, you can tell who are NOT gurls: Lauren Sim, Sharon Ng, Dawn Yeo and Yiling, as they are not interested to look at bug/toenail/shoelace. beware of these people.

Share your pictures!

Hey T08, our year has come to an end. Majority of us are just left with Chinese and Project Work. So let us bond together and relish our wonderful memories shall we? Share your pics here so everyone in the class can see the special moments which we spent together. Take this as a tribute to those who are not promoting up with us next year :(

And Ben, is it possible to burn a CD/DVD of pictures during our entire year? I think you can get the money from the class fund if possible. If there isn't enough, maybe you can start collecting from the class. I believe that will be the best gift for the class for this year :) Sorry to trouble you on that

Darren and me during J1 grad day on 23/10/07

Mrs Leong's birthday on 10/10/07

Darren & me on NDP celebrations 8/9/07
(Remember his size S fitting t-shirt? Lol. Was really tight and errr sexy?)

New fashion trend set by me & the guys followed
Nice tucked in t-shirts with pants hanging at the ribs :)
Looks stupid but the guys know the agenda for this set by me
So if you wanna know more, ask the guys. hehe

These are special memories which we will relish on in the future. So cmon, what are you waiting for? Join and share those wonderful pics now!!!!

ONE YEAR OF MEMORIES

hello t8! i'm writing this in response to kai shun's previous post about class photos. i have compiled a file of photos (each and every single one taken by some form of image capturing device (be it video recorder, SLR, mobile phone, scanner or digital cameras). in total, we have clocked about 1,231 photos, which comes up to a whopping 1.6GB of data. i certainly do not have 21 DVDs to fit all of them, and due to a number of reasons, such as 1) it would be quite a waste of DVD since each one can hold 4.7GB and 2) it's not environmentally-friendly. so for those of you who want the photos, please pass me some form of data storage device that can hold 1.6GB of photos. i'm sure many of you will want it cos you have not seen at least a third of it before :P

anyway, do get back to me about when u want to pass me your media drives. at the same time, tell me if you're staying over for the class chalet! :)

cheers,
ben

class chalet finalisation & planning of activities

hi t8! promos and results are over so it's time to get down to planning the actual activities of the class chalet. firstly, we need suggestions on what we're gonna do there (since it's gonna be 3D2N).

here are a few suggestions we have already:
1) board & card games (whatever you have to bring, bring it! e.g. game of life, monopoly, twister, cluedo, truth/dare, etc.)

2) drinking games (involving water or similar so that nobody gets drunk, only bloated :P)

3) jeslyn suggested water bombs which would turn the entire chalet and the surrounding boundaries into a warzone, but still fun.

4) walks to old changi hospital/changi beach/changi village (this will be for the first night)

5) usual mainstream activites : cycling (i'm not sure if you can rent bikes there but i have a feeling you can), ball games/frisbee (we'll need to find a spot for this or we'll spend half the time trying to retrieve the ball back from the road with passing cars), or going crazy like shannon and simply headbanging to music in the chalet itself.

6) watch movies (someone bring a DVD player, especially a cheap-ass one, and darren can supply us with his entire collection of pirated movies so we can watch. or for those more insane ones, you can bring some microphones and karaoke xD)

7) the BBQ (for this we'll have to do a completely separate arrangement on the food, whether we're gonna do pot-luck, or purchase from outlets and increase the chalet funds. bbq pit should be provided, or we'll buy a few from supermarkets using the class fund.)

also, we need to know which one of you are staying over on which night (so we can determine if there will be enough sleeping spots for everyone. so if you see this, please TAG THE TAGBOARD with your name and tell me if you're staying over.)

thanks alot and all the best for pw! :)

Yet Another Class Chalet Update

Yep it's about $8 per person for the chalet, not including food and stuff, not the $24 mentioned earlier.

Any ideas for what kind of food to bring or what to do there? Write it on the class whiteboard (in case people didn't notice Kai Shun getting up to scribble it on the board during lessons), or tag :)

So far we've got cycling, board games, frisbee and erm...studying.

Food ideas now, I guess.

Oh yeah, "
The double-storey terraces are fully furbished with living room set with TV and games table; dining area; 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, furbished with beds (1 queen-sized and 4 single-sized), wardrobe, dresser, bedside table and wall fan; 3 toilets /bath with shower heater; BBQ pit and a fully equipped kitchen."

So we need people to confirm whether they can stay so the sleeping arrangements can be drawn out :)

Thank youu!:)
dawn! :)

CLASS CHALET CONFIRMATION

hello guys! apparently ALL chalets throughout singapore (including costa sands) have been FULLY BOOKED for 2,3 and 4th november, we have shifted the date back to the next blank slots for the most people: 10, 11, 12th december.

melody has kindly helped us book this chalet so the details are here:

NETHERAVON ROAD TERRACE
CHALET A (first chalet)
10th, 11th, 12th DECEMBER 2007

how to get there:
take bus 29 from tampines train station or the free shuttle service from pasir ris station

anyway, for your information, the chalet happens to be right in front of old changi hospital. and the amount works out to be around $24 per person (assuming 21 people turn up) for just accomodation (i.e. not including bbq, games, etc.). we will discuss what we should do in class soon.

thanks!

AVOID THIS AT ALL CAUSE

I think this would probably help to teach us what to avoid in our upcoming oral presentation for project work. When asked a question, please stay calm and give a logical answer. Hence or otherwise, I can only wish you good luck like Miss Teen USA South Carolina 2007.

(Watch the clip. The URL is given below)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WALIARHHLII

PS. If you find that you don't understand what she is talking, it's fine. You are normal. After all, she wasn't speaking into any sense

Here's a spoof of Miss Teen USA South Carolina 2007.

You guys should actually go watch it. It is really damn funny. Hope you guys have a good laugh over these 2 videos and learn something from it.
